Look who came to visit me today....

Olivia, Addison, Kailey and Owen along with their Mommy came to my house for some fun in the pool.  It was a blast splash of a time.  The twins enjoyed the water.  Kailey & Owen continue to get more comfortable in the water.  The twins were so good and I really enjoyed having them over the house, might need to make this a regular thing, don't you think?

Hello Olivia!

Addison & Olivia on my not so clean floor.  They didn't seem to mind as long as I gave them something to play with.

A few weeks ago I stopped over to see my favorite twinie girls.  Addison & Olivia, 13 or 14 months old..I'm not good with time.  Anyways, they were just up from their naps and it took them a little bit to wake up and play.

How a song can trigger a memory

I played this song over & over during the boy's (nephews)  2003 summer trip to Arizona.  I heard it today and the memories of that summer came flooding back... I miss my boys.

Zachariah, age 12

Dining table .... finally

I've been looking for a round pedestal table for a long time.  I finally found one online...Ballard Design and it was on sale...it's a light green moss color...  I think I bought the last one.  yippee

Here's the chair style I love.  I saw these chairs at a local restaurant.  I asked the waiter about them and he said they were handcrafted especially for the restaurant...two carpenters - two styles.

I love the round style

These are two chairs I found online...I would prefer to get them unfinished but no luck finding unfinished ones.  I may have to do some research shopping in this big city of mine.  The style is called  "school house" chairs.  I'm wondering if the waiter meant they were painted especially for the place since these look so much like them.

I like the thickness of the seat and curve of the back
Minor difference...price about $20 less.

It's called "research shopping"

The past couple of days I've been out doing research...here's what I found
The other day we went to Charming Charlies...an accessories store...pretty cool place

This is the bling section.... the store is divided into color themes

Necklace my sister Rhonda would love

This watch is yelling out my sister Melinda's name
camo+bling+western=Melinda accessory
I didn't buy anything, go figure...

Next day I went out to do more research...

Fabric store/warehouse place.  It an overwhelming place...tons of stuff and I mean tons of stuff!  I was there to find anything teal color, ribbon mainly.  But no luck.  I did find some nice periwinkle color ribbon for me and some sample ribbons for Jackie.

Next place, the cake supply store...another overwhelming place.  This is a kind of place you need to have a mission when you walk in.  Too many distractions.  I found teal food coloring and cupcake liners.  My sister Rhonda is getting married and she is thinking of serving cupcakes at the reception instead of cake.  Silver and teal are her colors....ta da found both colors.  (p.s. she may have decided on cake as of last night, good thing I only took a photo and didn't purchase)

teal!

Like these silver ones

not these silver ones

teal ribbon but not nice fabric ribbon

nothing to do with wedding stuff...just loved these paper straws

nice straws for pool side girl drinks..I made a cherry vodka lemonade 7up with ice drink!  yummie

Okay, got a little off track there..
Next, party store...looking for anything teal...
No luck, no balloons, no ribbons, no streamers, nada....silver balloons.  But then I passed by the summer theme isle and low and behold...teal napkins!!!  I bought them all up...on clearance to boot.  Some forks, too.  While I was there I had this feeling someone was watching me...

Yikes!
I browsed the wedding isles and not much there that impressed me..too predictable.  I saw this cake topper and thought... every girl should have the fairy tale!

Another research stop...the Phoenix Swap Meet...haven't been there in ages.  Met up with some friends and headed in ... again a huge place with way too much to see.

My friend's son was there to get a knife for his birthday.  He collects them, yikes it was a big knife!

I came across this cute dress...immediately thought it would be a nice flower girl dress for Jackie's wedding.  It comes in ivory and can add a black stash and very affordable.

Look who I ran into!

Me and Michael Jackson

That's what I've been up to...researching.

One way to use the coffee bean bags

First, I picked out a bag with some cool labels.  Cutting the seams  was a messy job.  Took it outside to the patio and enjoyed the freaking 109 degree heat.  Okay, I did jump in the pool.

I had a piece of homasote board, a sound proof wall board. I bought it on one of my trips to Nebraska. I haven't found it here at any of the large home improvement stores. Half the time they never know what I'm even talking about when I ask for homasote board...haha.
This side of fabric?

Or this side?

Next I ironed and steamed the creases out.

I stapled the writing side on....not sure I like it. I set some upholstery tacks to see how it would look. I like it with the tacks. Tomorrow I'll finish it and hang it on the wall to tack and display all my ideas and things that inspire me.  I'll post final picture when it's done.

Field trip

Today I went to a knit shop on the other side of the valley.  I had never been to this shop nor do I even know how to knit!  My friend, Kathy works at the knit shop...Jessica's Knits.  Oh my, what beautiful yarns, all colors, all textures, all types, all fibers, cotton, wool, silks...
I bought some silk fiber pieces.  Apparently it's leftover remnants of silk sari's...one long endless strip of silks in wonderful colors....ribbons to wrap around mini sized gifts or maybe to make into rosettes for hair pins....hummm

Laptop, cont.

Got a call from Aaron, the Dell Support Supervisor informing me the "whoevers" of Dell denied replacing the laptop, AGAIN.  Then I got a email from Bryan, don't remember him...asking me how it was going since my last call to Dell Tech Support...wtf!  ***BIG SIGH***
What now??  I've been able to download some stuff, not been able to download other stuff, froze on me once last week, who knows why?  Overall, working better than anytime before...so do I just let it go and see what happens?  I don't have any more energy to give to this issue ....

Laptop posts...done

Happy 4th!

My view of fireworks today
Spent the evening with friends, had fun chatting, drinking, watching fireworks and feeling proud.
