Week 1 - Time to clear the calendar

No social events, no meeting ups, no lunches, no outings, nada, nothing! For now car rides with Bella, walks in the park with Bella, back yard throwing the ball for Bella, video chats with anyone who will answer, online class, online youtube videos of my new interest...Mr Harry Styles!!!   His music is blasting most days now.  Studio time always a blast....painting, jewelry, Harry Styles videos going on in the studio!   Binge watching everything.  Audio books, real books, picture books, and journal time all on tap. 

We all need to do our part in getting through this COVID-19 crisis.  Today made a point to check in on friends and all seem to be doing good.  Husband still going into his office and even though their company has implemented some changs, I don't think it's been enough.  In the meantime, stay safe and do your part!

Hawaii trip!

I'm heading to Hawaii next month to dog/house sit for my friends, Kate & Jennifer!  I'm going with my young friend Christine!  We're going to Honolulu and anywhere else from there!  I thought I better do my research so we can maximize our time.

Got two books at the used book store and they're full of lots of ideas of fun shit to do.  I can't wait!!

I've been making some little books for some of my trips.  The book asks "where I'm going", "what to pack", "what food i ate", "who i met", etc.....  I get an vintage postcard image off the Internet and then I use my vintage typewriter to type on notebook paper.  Cut it all down a quarter page size and put it all together with a ring.  So fun.

Small Business Saturday!

I crossed paths with my friend Lillie in April 2014.  We had a conversation and I hung up the phone thinking how could it be that I met someone so like me.  Since that time we have spent time sharing ideas, dreams, crafts, and all the other girl crafty stuff.  This weekend she was invited to participate  in this event at ThirdSpace.  We went to a meeting and I loved the energy of the place and the other artist!  So wish us luck and here's a sample of the fun things I'm selling.

Street fair was a challenge today

First of all, too much Phoenix traffic (always) which didn't make it easy to get to Casa Grande... ugh, should of paid attention to time, then again, time runs in odd ways in my world.  In all ended up with setting up late, but the spot was nice and the artists I was next to were nice.  My table was ready, but I noticed not much foot traffic.  As the night went on, still not much foot traffic.  A cool breeze showed up, though. All us participants closed up an hour early because again, not much foot traffic.  Oh well, on to the next event or two.

This is a great "downtown social" with a different theme every month.  Local artisans and musicians are featured as well as  a Classic Car Show. Florence Street will by closed off and all the shops and restaurants will be open with special promotions.  This event is held the first Tuesday of each month from 5:30-9:00 pm. The location is at "The Alley" which is off Florence Street between 2nd and 4th Streets.  For more information, contact Rina Rien at 520-836-8744.  All downtown shops and restaurants will be open   I'll have holiday themed pendants, Christmas stockings, garlands, more pendants, necklaces and earrings.

Street fair time, again.

I'm going to be at the Casa Grande Street Fair on December 3rd!! I've been working hard in the studio to have a nice selection of pendants and earrings.  I'm also including some holiday crafts, stockings, garland, etc.  I can't wait should be a blast.  I'll post the exact info later this week.

 

This reminded me of the photo I got in my email.  Last spring at the street show in Casa Grande I sold a pendant to Pam.  Pam explained she was getting married in Hawaii and she needed gift for her partner.  She liked a number of pendants but finally choose a purple pendant with a heart.  The plan was to give it to her partner after their ceremony in Hawaii.  Pam was kind enough to send me a photo!  Congratulations to them.
