Why oh why is it so tough to get a boy to smile??? This was our first attempt to get a good set. We plan to do it again this week and we should have more to show off.....

Prom Night

Zachariah on his prom night. From what I heard he danced the night away.

Christine on prom night, too. They both went to the same prom but with their own group of friends. I made Christine's dress and I must say it turned out perfect. She had the design idea and I was able to create it for her. She looked absolutely adorable.

What a week, caught a stomach bug and have struggled all week. But it's Friday and looking forward to the weekend....hunting eggs and eating chocolate bunnies!
Even tho I was sick I got a lot done. Working on Christine's red prom dress. I'll post photo once it's finished. Celebrated Zachariah's 18th birthday with a ice cream cake and bbq. Dealt with outdoor furniture cushion problem...bought them last week and they went on sale and the stupid store has too many price adjustment rules! But I out smarted them and got my way... cushions even cheaper!
Tomorrow we're shopping for his tux for prom. We're also doing a senior photo garage session for both Zachariah and Christine. That should be a blast since both are pretty photogenic.

My friend, Kathleen's wedding. I was nervous about this gig. I knew the lighting would be a challenge and boy was it.... thanks for Photoshop.

It was a busy month....

I've been painting anytime I can find atleast 10 minutes to sit still. My friend, Melissa brought her sister to paint. Her sister sure has some painting talent. I wish I would of photographed her art piece. My creative plate has been full. I photographed a wedding, sewing a prom dress, helped my sister with her restaurant taxes, and keeping up with my nephew's college stuff. Plus working. I know I'm as busy as most multi-taskers, huh?

We're going to another Art Walk tomorrow... more inspiration. Coolest art, music and people!

Also, my hubby and I celebrated our 25th anniversary this week. It was fun thinking back on our wedding day...how he was late, which has never changed. Like Iyanla Vanzant said... "if you want to know the end, look at the beginning".

Random, so random

I always get a new random idea to inspire my creative mojo. It never fails and I actually count on getting these random ideas and look forward to the discovery.

The other day I was in a craft store with a 40% off coupon and thought I was due for a new book. I gravitate to papercraft books so I wasted no time and low and behold there is it was. It was calling or should I say "yelling" my name. I picked it up and flipped through the pages and had to have it. I shared it with a friend and she loved it and said "let's make some random art". So we did and here's a peek ..... more to come, stay tuned. It's addictive!

Trip to Texas Tech

Traveled to Texas Tech University to watch my nephew play basketball. He's starting freshman, standing tall at 6'10".

Had a blast and it was nice to see family.

The game was exciting,especially after Coach Pat Knight was ejected from the game. See he's not on the bench! Nebraska won, but #15 played and that's what counted.

We have a new President

I watched the inauguration all day long. Not much interest at my office, kinda surprised me. I found myself emotional when he took the oath and gave his speech.

Obama!

I've been stuck to the television since yesterday watching the inauguration events. Yesterday's concert was so awesome...Bono, U2, Bruce and John Mellencamp. It's so historic and amazing.

Tomorrow is the day. Can't wait

Back on the blog

I finally made time to post.  I have photos and things made.  I had a busy holiday season and caught a very bad sore throat.  I'm thinking it was a serious sign to stop talking and LISTEN.  It's amazing what you hear when you're quiet.  

Mirror

For some time I promised Jason I would make him a new frame for an old mirror he was going to throw out.  Now if you know nothing about me, you should know this.... I work on "jobi time".  I have this thing about time....no concept of time actually.  I don't like clocks or watches and time floats in odd ways in my world.   I love the night and hate to sleep.   It does make it a challenge since the rest to the world has this thing about clocks.  But, back to this  mirror.  It has taken me several years, I think.  I'm finished with it .  Weird but once I started it, it was finished in "no time".  I love it and will be delivering it soon. (jobi time, again).

Christmas

We had a formal holiday dinner with a small group of friends.  I found this set of dishes at random stop at a random antique store on a random day.  They were meant to be found this random shopping stop.
