Life goes on......
It 's been tough adjusting to Colby Dog being gone. I read this book before he went to heaven.
It's written in the dog's words... Enzo is his name and his owner is Denny. Enzo says he watched a TV documentary that explained everything to him, made it all clear, told the whole truth: When a dog is finished living his lifetimes as a dog, his next carnation will be as a man. Enzo, who always felt almost human and knew something about him was different than other dogs. His soul was very human. Like Enzo I have always thought Colby Dog was an old soul and there was something very human about him. He told me he was ready to become a man and I hope Enzo is right and Colby Dog will take all his memories, all his experiences with him and forces himself to remember and try to imprint on his soul all he knows and I will meet him, again.
I purchased this beauty from two young ladies who had lots of fab things. I got busy and made some of my own.

Here's one.
I didn't post about how I have been searching for a manual vintage aqua blue typewriter for months on Ebay, Craigslist, and thrift stores anywhere and everywhere I traveled lately. I won a bid on Ebay but it never arrived. I lost every other bid on Ebay and gave up. But out of the blue or should I say aqua blue when I traveled to see my best friend's dad, Papa George there it was .... the perfect aqua blue typewriter!!! The family of three daughters and two sons were in town so they decided to do some spring cleaning and purging of things around the garage and closets. They found their old family typewriter. My friend showed it to me the minute I arrived and I snatched it up and danced a happy dance and twirled and twirled, singing out how I couldn't believe my eyes. I didn't even ask if it was meant for me I just took it...lol... but no one stopped me. Probably cuz they were in shock of boldness and lack of consideration that it was their family treasure!!! So you would think I would noticed that maybe someone in the family...I mean I am someone in the family and if I could of I would of used it to type my high school homework on it like they said in the background as I ran away with to secure it in my truck!!!
The next day or so I began to have that catholic guilt and asked if it was wrong of me and my friend was nice to say it was fine (she was being nice). Well the guilt wore off and here it is!!!
It says "thank you ....
...... so much"
(I have a surprise package on it's way to my April Birthday Sister! I can't wait for her to open it up. Once she does I'll post photos. Shhhhhh don't tell her! ).

A sad day

Anyone who knows me or has spent time with me knows my Colby dog. He was the most sweetest dog and always hung out in my craft room with me on my late nights. He loved to be around everyone and he was so gentle and calm. He loved water, he loved hiking, he loved camping, he loved treats, he loved rides in the car, he loved french fries, he loved me...
He suffered from arthristis and old age. We tried medications to keep him comfortable, but we could see he was not going to get better. Last week he told me he was ready and not to be sad. The day came yesterday. He was calm and so relaxed as we drove and even more peaceful once we sat in the room with him. He was loved and will be so missed.

Here it goes...
On our road trip we stopped for a break near these cool buildings. Not sure what it used to be...but I thought they made some interesting backgrounds.

Mini Lula all covered up...she's like why can't I see anything?????
This is Colby's senior photoshoot...it was so cold out and the sun wasn't shining in this alley way. he was fun to shoot.

Funny story here... it was his idea to drive up to an abandoned house and take some photos. It was a neat house and a great photo background. We had to cross an electric fence, not a problem. Never thinking we shouldn't be in the house. Well not even 15 mintues in the house a pickup drove up ... OMG! We hurried out of the house and walked to Mini Lula acting all cool and explaining how we were taking photos. The man was pretty cool with us and then went on to explain what the house was...a house where the migrant workers slept when they worked the beet fields. The two room houses were built about every two to three miles and this was the last one in this area. Ended he went to school with my sister and knew her and the La Casa Nueva well. Whew.

My sister, Patsy, owner of La Casa Nueva, was interviewed by a local tv station. I'm trying to get a copy of the video and once I do I'll add it to my blog. The interview was great and she was fabulous.

Remember I posted a find of some vintage luggage on a trip to Lincoln. Well here they are.. So cool. I think they would be perfect on trip to Paris, France that is.
I put up lights in my studio. They give a nice glow to the evenings.
I found this great idea in the holiday issue of Somerset LIFE.
Everyone I gave them to loved them.
Check this out....
My friend, Angela gave me the best ever birthday gift. It was such a great suprise and perfect!
I loved everything about it. All kinds of goodies and a fabulous container to boot!
Check out the office candle gifts I made.
Check out these cupcakes! I made them for a friend who was taking a leave from her job due to serious medical issues. She loved them. I loved using the nut type paper cups.

Okay, that's it for this long photo post. I have plenty more but this is it for tonight.

In the freezer....
I'm in the midwest and boy is it COLD here!! Not sure but I think it's like 14 degrees outside right now!!! My little Mini Lula is like .... I thought when the sun shines it's warm out...not here. She has to be "warmed up" before we head out on the streets. We traveled the southern route thinking we'd avoid the feets of snow and blizzard conditions in northen AZ, NM & CO. But that really didn't help us avoid hours of thunderstorms, sleet and snowstorms! Man what an adventure and thank godness my husband drove cuz I would of just stopped and cried when the snowflakes started in the mountains in NM. Mini Lula was stubborn in TX and decided her steering pump needed some attention! So off to the mini dealer in Denver, CO and they were great and fixed her right up. She's doing great at 50,000 miles!! As always I have tons of photos and should find some time soon to p0st. I have photos of Husker game in San Diego, our trip to Sedona, gifts I made, Gabi's volleyball, and a few from my recent roadtrip. I haven't had time to touch my camera this week, but as soon as I can I will. Now to keep warm.....

GO HUSKERS!!!
Made a BOO BOO
okay, see this beautiful bracelet and painted gift box? I made them for a girlfriend's birthday. I'm not sure what I was thinking but I thought it was her 50th birthday and thought she needs a special gift this year. Well I showed up to give it to her and she was so pleased and loved the gift. Later she texted me to gently tell me she was not 50 but 51......shhhhhh
OMG I totally messed up. I remember hearing her talk about her birthday and her husband's birthday. Now here's the worse part what did I do for her actual 50th birthday last year!!!
In my sense of time...it's her 50th birthday
I'm making more bracelets like this one since I liked it so much.
Photos I took this week...
This is Gator and he was full of energy. Of course he was more interested in the playground then having his picture taken.

Isn't she just the proudest Grandma.....

My other photoshoot was of Marisol. She lives in El Paso, Texas and I could not wait to meet her. I've seen pictures of her and I finally got to hold and hug her. She's as adorable in person as she is in these photos. She's been in town visiting her grandparents. I plan to see her again before she leaves. I will miss her.

Nothing cuter than baby's toes!
I aged this photo to look like a vintage tinted photograph. She's so sweet.
December is my month!!
There's this thing about December...it's my birthday month. When I was a kid my mom & dad made sure no one forgot my birthday, since everyone was so focused on the holidays. They never gave me that .... "this is your birthday and christmas present". Anyone who has a December birthday understands what I'm saying, huh? So I especially thank them and belame them for my obsession about "my birthday month". One friend made me laugh last year when he said ... December is all about Jobi and Jesus. That is the truth in my world. My friends let me be crazy and come along for the ride. This year we're having my annual cookie exchange on my birthday. That's not how it started...first I wanted it on my birthday and a friend had a conflict so I changed the date, then several other friends had conflicts with the rescheduled date, then after all was said and done .... we are having it on my birthday. Here's this years invite...but note the date is wrong because it's on my birthday!

Here's a couple of cookie exchange invites from the past years. Our cookie exchange is in it's 12th or 13th year. I have all the invites in a box and I must say I've been pretty creative with them. You should put together a cookie exchange with your friends!

Progress
End of the weekend and back to work on Monday.

Here's some stuff that kept me busy.
Watched way too much football
Found several new magazines full of crazy fun ideas!
So I had to find time to read and study the pictures.
Tried a couple of things but found I need more paper punches!
Oh, and glitter, too.
I read somewhere or saw it on someone's blog ... 47 days til Christmas!
I think I would like to do an idea list - one thing for each day left.
1. tiny fabric trees with glitter & stars
2. tiny paper circle trees with glitter & a star on top.
3. fabric flowers
4. snowman jars
5. paper sack envelopes
6. sewn paper sack envelopes
7. sewn paper flowers on cards
8. babbles with snowflakes with glitter
9. babble stones with christmas sayings
10. photos of my dogs, colby & winston
11. earrings, red ones
12. rubberstamped cards
13. flannel pink baby blankets
14. ice skate idea
15. crochet a funky scraf
16. thank you notes
17. cookie exchange invite design
18. bake sugar cookies
19. paint a christmas themed angel
20. bracelets
21. soldered pendants
22. button designed cards
23. add to my "me" journal
Okay, that's half of the list....whew!
More to come......
Here's some of the babbles I made. I made a number of them but gifted them before photographing them.
