This is John, Kendra and Jon Jon. John is home on leave from Iraq. He's only home for a short while, less than two weeks. They wanted photos to have while they're apart. I'm very proud of John.

I couldn't get him to smile! He didn't look so serious when I was shooting the pics, but once I looked at them I realized how serious his pose was. The graffiti wall was a great fine!

Tom's 50!

Worked hard today to celebrate Tom's birthday. Made a music playlist of his concert music from the late 70's - early 80's. Made a flip chart display of his life. We mourned the loss of his youth. We had everyone give him 50 of one item and family & friends did a great job with this, matchsticks, toothpicks, toilet paper squares, snicker mini's, gum, lens clearner, jelly beans, popsicle sticks, corn, beans, nuts, jelly worms, etc. Everyone had fun, especially Tom.

End of the week

Boy was a week. Gone from work for so long sure has it's benefits and drawbacks at the same time. Once I get into my craftroom my head quits spinning from all the work drama. Retirement sure gets more appealing by the week.
It was a sad day for Gabi. She had to put her dog "chiquita" down this afternoon. She was a brave girl and was with Chiquita til the end. We went to a movie, "JUNO". It was a good fun movie. Nice distraction.
I've been working with PMC3 (precious metal clay). I'm loving it and so far have made some pretty cool pendants. Very primative and simple. Using my clay sparinly. I will post pics later this weekend.

Happy Holidays

It's been a busy holiday season. Managed to get the cookie exchange organized and had a great time. Ended up with 10 friends and 9 dozen cookies. My fav ... Melissa's cookies.

We had a somewhat formal holiday dinner with a dozen close friends. I always wanted to do this and this year I finally found the time to get it done. It was outdoors in our patio area. It was a cool evening but not cold. Served beef roast, garlic mash potatoes and saute'd green beans. It was a success and I will do it again. The table looked great.

Projects

Got the craftroom painted and I love it! Now to move everything back in. I must purge stuff and organize it as I had it. I can't wait to get back into my space. I'll post pic once it's all put back together. Otherwise, it's still way too hot in AZ.

Dang, another HOT day in the desert

Apparently, we broken some kind of record this week..... way too many days in a row over 110 degrees. OMG I'm so ready 90 degree days. The heat sure doesn't help get the creative mojo going. I've been working on projects in the house at the kitchen table. I'm in the process of painting my craftroom. It's my only gotta get done project this weekend. I'll post a pic of it once it's all put back together.

back to work

hey, first day back to work after a three week vacation. Not too bad, actually. Tonight I needed to make a birthday card and finish the my niece's 21st birthday gift. Still didn't get package in the mail of her baby pictures, so the gift gets delayed another day. Saw baby Reagan today and that's always a treat! Gabi was very gabby today. If I haven't told you about her....she's the angel girl sent to me. I'll tell you more about her as time goes on. Check out the card I made, got the idea from two peas. Aqua is the color of the day...

The boys are gone and it's way too quite around here. I've been going through some of our photos and decided to post a couple. We had fun this day, driving the desert. I found that Colby has quite the camera eye. He used a film camera and I used my digital. His photos were impressive. After they left I have some free time so I made some soldered artwork. I used photos of MJ's baby. I'll post one so you can see how they came out. I really like making them. Gotta work on Crystal's (my niece) 21st Birthday gift. I need to mail it on Monday!! I'll post it after her bday so not to give out the surprise.

Been away a long time.....

It's been months since I posted. Busy summer, but it's coming to an end and I plan to have more time and plan to let you all know more about my blog and post "stuff" I've been making over the summer!
Boys (nephews) for the summer and whoever said boys and girls are the same are so wrong. Boys don't like to "shop" they like to get their stuff and go home. Boys like to eat. Boys like loud music!!! Boys like just about anything LOUD. Boys can be lazy or should I say they have this crazy idea that housework is "woman's" work!!! Boys don't care if they have to wear the same teeshirt two or maybe three days in a row. On the other hand, they are less drama, no fighting over the bathroom, and it's okay not to have to go to the mall for the fourth time in one day!

It's been a long week. My dad been here all week and we've been getting so much done around the house. I'll post pictures and you'll see how much we got done! Yellow is the color of the day...all sunny around here.

Dad in Town

My dad is in town and helping me with some of my projects. Today he made us his famously good refried frijoles!! YUM He dug out the sidewalk and getting ready for the gravel and edging. Tomorrow we'll finish digging and work on leveling out soil around the house. Work was tough today. Tough to stay focus when so many voices and conversations going around you. Dinner was good, brother came by and met up with several friends. Happy Valentine's Day to everybody....a good day! Flowers and all.

Getting ready for some major projects and some not so major ones.

Need to finish up on some design work to be able to move forward.
